Making a Difference, One day at a Time!!

Welcome to our Lost and Found Department.  Critter Care Rescue receives hundreds of displaced animals every year from various sources including but not limited to Blackstone Animal Contol, Nottoway Pound, individuals who have found or picked up strays wandering the streets and owner surrenders.  We make every attempt reunite some of the animals we feel are not strays with their owners.  Those we feel have possibly escaped from a fence or out of the house accidentally (especially those wearing collars) we hold at our rescue for 14 days until we have exhausted our resources in locating the owners.  After 14 days those animals are then listed as adoptable on our website and we find a forever home for them.  Once these animals are adopted, our adopters information and all information pertaining to this animal is kept confidential.  We can not remove an animal from a home, to reunite with a previous owner, once the waiting period and adoption process is complete.

If you are an owner, who has lost a pet there are steps you can take to try to recover your animal.

  1. Contact your local and surrounding animal control officers, county pounds and sheriff's offices.
  2. Contact your local and surrounding veterinary offices.
  3. Be prepared to give unlimited information on your pet including size, color, markings, spay/neuter information, previous injuries or scars and collar color.
  4. Contact your local radio stations, newspapers and rescues/shelters.
  5. Call anyone you know within a 12-15 mile radius (an unneutered male will wander)
  6. Never give up.

If you have lost or found an animal please contact us and we will list it on this site.  If you see a listing you think might be your animal please contact the individual listed or if it is our listing you can email us at lostandfound@crittercarerescue.com
